A/C and heating system problems

Hi there,
I have a '97 Honda Civic and have a problem with my A/C and heat system. There isn't much air blowing out the vents when it does blow out. It only seems to blow out when I step on the gas enough. I also noticed that the same amount of air is blowing out the vents no matter what level the A/C system is at including if it is off. Also, when the recirculation button is pushed, the air stops blowing out.
If anyone knows what this problem could be, would this be a costly repair? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

It sounds like your blower motor does not work.
I would start with checking fuses.
Good luck,
Sam

try checking the blower motor resistor its located on the blower box looks like a little switch with two maybe three wires and it bolts to the side or top. looks like a filiment of a light bulb but there three and if any are broken or frayed replace it they usually run anywhere from 20-80 depending on model and make but dont hold me to the price though just guessing based on my autoparts exp.. let me know what happens

Well I just had the exact same problem a month ago. I mean to the detail. Take your blower fan out of our car which is located under your glove box and hook it up to a 12 volt battery to check to see if it works. Mine worked the first time i tried it but it had dead spots in it where it wouldnt work. I think your problem is the blower fan. If not that then id check your resistor blower. Goodluck

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to take a look at it this weekend to see if I can figure anything out.
