questions about MSD ignitions/wires

hey guys, i have a 2002 ford ranger xl 4 cyl 2.3L. i put a cat-back, a chip, cold air intake (very custom) and an msd ignition on it. the only thing is no one makes high performance spark plug wires for the ignition. i ordered a set that fits the 97 2.3L (the year before they went to 2.5) and im gona see if they fit. but if they do, could they (or just having stock wires in there) damange my truck?...have the benefits of having the msd not reached their full potential because of this?...will custom performance wires work as effectively as factory made ones?...how long does it usually take for something like this to come out for a brand new truck?...if anyone out there knows anything about msd ignitions or can answer any of my questions, your help would be greatly appreciated. thanks alot,
