i dont remember what exactly happened but he hit a curb and screwed up the Z3

Menu dei Motori

oh i donīt know how often i described my accident.. and always when i need the text to copy i cannot find it.
ok iīll try again to explain my accident with my diccionary :D

i went off the "autobahn" and braked exactly at my breaking point where i always brake when the street is dry.
then the street makes a curve and i still brake a bit in the curve.
but the curve was a little bit wet so i drifted slowly to my left (itīs a right curve)and the crashing barrier came nearer and nearer. then i first hit in with the front and then with the back

...scratches and dints from frontspoiler to the back
so the hole left side had to be replaced including sidemirror, engine hood and boot lid.
that was ok nothing happend to me but after i crashed i went over a curbstone that was 30 m away. i had no control.
that was not so nice the whole under carriage with itīs suspenions, steering column and so on had to be replaced.
and new rims and tires (when do i use rim and wheel and tire?)
ok the z3 was 1 week in repair.
the insurance pays all.
alltogether 13000$ :-(
maybe when i have time iīll post some pics in bmw z3 forum.

An 150hpAlfa that is heavier than a Z3 would not kill a Z3 in Second. Z3 2.3L is 187hp anyway:flipa:

why pontiac? you should go to a bmw dealer

lowridder11

I had to rent a pontiac while my Z3 was gettin' fixeed. I was driving on a small winding road with ice on the ground and the guy in front of me stoped short, i swerved and hit the curb and because the car is so low to the ground it took of the bottom of my front air dam. Then about a week latter some careless fool opend his door and it hit my rear left pannel and left a nice dent. I also need new tires.

hm not good damn i got also 3 dents from somebody who cannot open doors.
always the car is away for one week to get a new paint and how pays? me... grrr

wow menu, thats some damage to your Z, i'd never seen the pics before.... all i can say is,
1) glad you were ok cos the crash doesnt sound very pleasant, and
2) i envy you for your fantastic insurers... some guy reversed into my (parked) car about 3 weeks ago, breaking my tail-light, and my amazing insurance company sent me a letter saying the license plate i gave them doesnt match the car (Land Rover), even though i linked the license plate up with the Land ROver model on the Internet and it matched.... how's that for stupid? I gave them a call, so "theyre gonna try again".... honestly, the biggest bunch of no-hopers in the world :(

Nice! Hope to see some pics of your new wheels :D:D:D:D:D

As for insurance- be glad you never had to insure your car in NEw Zealand- when I wrote off my Audi- it took 3 months for them to process it and even then they argued that the car (Hit at 120 km/h by a milk tanker) was fixable........

Yeah I changed insurance companies after that:rolleyes:

You think that your BW was in a bad state. I run a chain of car dealerships, and i had a guy who had purchased a brand new Z8 from me.
3 weeks later, he booked it in and told me that it had been vandalised, and asked if my workshop would repare it. And when it arived, i was so shocked that i had to sit down!!
While he was on holiday, thieves broke into his house, found the keys to the Z8, then went jot riding in it. The front was totaly smashed up, they had obviously reversed into a wall, to smash the back up, and the near side looked rather like that of your Z3.
The hood was slashed 27 times, they had carved their tags, and various other stuff into the seats and dash, before puoring paint stripper all over the car inside and out. The tyres were slashed, the wheels had been attacked with an axe, and every piece of glass on the car had been smashed. They even went as far as putting sugar in the petrol tank, and water in the oil! Then the parked the car outside his house for his return!
His insurers wanted to write the car off, but he was insistant that it had to be repared.
The bill, Ģ56'670!!!

I have some photo's of it somewhere, but i can't find them at the mo.
When i do, i'll post them! it really is an eye-opener
