Hello everyone.

Tonight I decide to show you my one month old project. It wont be nothing special, but i will try to make it as nice as possible.

First of all, my reference pix:

Next is my work:

I did absolutly stupid thing, when i was working on a hood. I didnt put anything under that "hump" (or "hunch"?) and now a putty is always cracking :banghead:

Enjoy

I will try to finish it without redoing the hood, but It may crack after painting and this wont be good :D

i agree, the fujimi kit should come with an optional "stock" hood

i agree, the fujimi kit should come with an optional "stock" hood

It Does, The One On The Kit Is Correct For A CR-X SI
It Has The Little "Bubble" To Clear The ZC Valve Cover.
The Kit Is Mostly Correct, But The Inner Door Panels Have No Detail!
I Wish Fujimi Would Have Updated To SIR When Did The Glass Top Update :disappoin
The Cars In The Pics Are CR-X Sir's. The Differences Are:
Hood (Raised Center To Clear VTEC Valve Cover)
Front Bumper(Wrap Around Turn Signals)
Headlights( Single Element On SIR, Dual On All Others)
Sorry For The Rant, I've Owned Five 1/1 CRX's And Still Love'em!

Too bad about the hood, but it looks like it's coming along great. I love these little cars, and yours looks cool. I am looking forward to seeing this come together.

Correction about the headlights:

Si had a single bulb just like the SiR did. The real difference is that the light is slightly longer and comes out slightly further at the front.

Here's a pic of my real headlights:

evo8lover: thanks for explanation :bigthumb:

mrceej: thanks for reference pics :bigthumb:, but one of headlights on your photo (probably the SiR's one) have two bulbs :dunno: but maybe I dont understand you :sorry:

AllAlone.gz: yep, but the hood will be black, exactly as on the 2nd reference pic :iceslolan

mrceej

the two headlights i pictured are the exact same shape. the one with two bulbs is the US spec headlight, the single bulb is the Japan spec (possibly European) spec headlight. those two headlights are what the original model headlights reflect, the SiR headlights (like you have referenced) are actually more pointed/longer in overall dimension and come out slightly further. i was pointing out the difference to help with the accuracy of your front end work. i wish i had both a real Si and SiR headlight to show you the difference, it would make more sense if you saw them visually.

Hello everyone, Ive got kind of mini update. I havent done nothing goergeous, because of cold weather, until I moved my stuff into my room (I used to work in my garage before). I finally "redone" a hood. I just grab a dremell and sand down frist layer of plastic. Then I add filling sheet and cover it by thin plastic sheet (I hope you understand). But cracking is still driving me mad. I will glue it more for the future. Except this headache producer I did some work on blinkers and muffler tip. After all, you could see everything on pix.

just small info. after long long time, i was finally satisfied with bonet until i wash the car (as preperation for primer) and found that bonnet is asymetrical. now i had to putty it again and then all over and over again :banghead:

hi, after some time i have news. 3rd hood evolution is the best one. i used combination of epoxy putty and basic putty, which seems to be the best decision i had ever done on this kit. beside this, i finished seatbelts with seats. i think they are nice, dont they? :) dashboard need to be painted and carbonized. blinkers are weird because they are not finished yet. well, hope you like it :icon16:

Thank for positive comments, i appreciate it

I finnaly come to primering. Tamiya's Basic putty is driving me crazy, because it's not filling as i want, so I ordered Tamiya white putty. Don't know what it is, but I hope that it will be something better  I am not satisfied with the result of my work, but thats why we are priming first :icon16:

hello, winter break is over, therefore work on my little honda continues. i bought new compressor, together with new airbrush recently.one which i used before didnt matched my requirements. shame that i had to learn how to paint again. honestly, i still got problems: paint is spittin out and my hood is full of drops. whats the problem? anyway, ill try to polish it, maybe ill do the whole work again.

when i was reviewing this post, i found that the hood is not correct at all. SiR's mask is more narrow. why nobody didnt notice it :banghead:  doesnt matter. life goes on..

i also carbonized dashboard. i must admitt that it was real pain. but now, ive got great feeling of succesfuly finished work.

and here is my humble honda:

Very nice. I was thinking of picking up this kit, my mom owned a very nice Y-49 Si until she had to sell it because of another child ('91). Its always been her most favorite car, she'll take her own bumble bee over a Gallardo any day.

How was the Tamiya White Putty? I just got some, hopefully it will do the trick for my next WIP. Your Crx is very clean, digging the CF dash. Is the Roll Cage custom?

hello, just a quick update:

dashboard finally finished and put into interior. also tried to do panel lines, but im not satisfied with the result. i thought that painting the car was the most difficult part of the project, but these panel lines easily ruined my imagination of the clean work. thinner just ate my "beautiful" paintjob and i have to polish it over again. will never do the panel lines after polishing the whole body. just freaking :screwy:
