1995 Altima Nissan - 86,000 miles

Service:
Nissan Dealership Service Depart:
Changed Automatic transmission fluid in 2002.

June 25th 2007 - 86,000 miles - Nissan Dealership Service Depart. - Flushed and changed automatic transmission fluid

Took the car in to be serviced June 25, 2007 to the Nissan Dealership Service Depart. because the 1st gear drove the RPM's up to 5 and the 2nd gear changed around 4 RPMs UNLESS...You :banghead: KICKED the gas pedal then... the transmission changes to the next gear. Once you get pass all the gears the transmission works properly.
No problem there.

I was told the problem might be because the car wasn't driven enough. :shakehead

Question: Is there a hose running from the bottom of the radiator to the automatic transmission ?
*We were told there is.

Question : If there is such a hose and there is a small leak in the hose wouldn't you see signs of the leakage on the ground when the car is parked?
*We were told you wouldn't.

Question: Is there a filter in the automatic transmission ?
I was told NO there isn't a filter in the transmission.

I was told there is a hose on the bottom of the radiator running to the automatic transmission which allows the coolant to pass the transmission and keep it cool and they needed to install a :banghead: new radiator because the hose/tube was leaking coolant to the transmission.

*I have never seen any leakage on the driveway from anything, stemming from this car.

Ever since the transmission flush on June 25th 2007 the transmission fluid level is showing low. We had never had this happen until June 25th when the service department flushed the transmission.

Its been suggested by Nissan Service Department, we install a used transmission instead of going into this one.

Since I purchased the car new, maintained the oil and oil changes every 3,000 miles and serviced everything when needed I'm thinking this is still a good car to keep.
Any help or ideas ?
Thanks in advance !
