'88 Travails

We just returned our '88 Seville to the shop for the fourth time in two months! Catalytic converter replaced; control module replaced; rotors in distributors replaced. Will run fine, then suddenly starting lurching, chugging, and then die. Will restart and run. We're ready to drive it into the river. Thoughts? Insights?
