My first time replacing brakes. The front ones no problem, but can't seem to remove the rear drum. Has a shield behind it that seems to blocking removal. Any suggestions?

in order to remove the drum their should be 2 metal lock rings kinda like a washer on the front of two of the lug nut studs and they simply pull off from the front. after you remove them the rotor comes off freely. i dont know if they are absolutely necessary but i tried to keep mine in one piece and reused them. oh yea dont forgot to release the emergency break before you try to take the rotor off and i only say it cuz some ppl forget or dont know.

there should be 2 - 8mm bolt holes on the drum it (opposite each other) just get 2 8mm bolts (fine or coarse) I forget which, about 1" long and insert same into holes slowly turn bolts a little at a time (might need wd-40 or PB BLASTER to break rust hold) sooner or later it will pop free.
