I was curious if anyone here owns or has a friend who owns the new WRX, and what their impressions of the car are thus far?

It's hard to own a car which has been fully released to market yet, but those I know (dealers and from the media) that have driven them have been impressed.

I just spoke to a dealer here in Tallahassee, and he told me it's gonna be another 4 months.

Sorry for the delayed responce I've been away, we have had a brand new WRX (2008 new body style etc.) for 2 months now, not to mention I live in Saskatoon Saskatchewan, so not exactily the first place you would expect them to send one of the first cars.

Care to post some pics or an opinion about the car so far?

Must see! I'm sitting in the parking lot of a friend's apartment complex right now looking at a 2008 Legacy GT 2.5 across from me. Gonna go look up the specs on that thing real quick as well as the new WRX.

I'll be near there tomorrow so i'll take my camera then, but i have to admit, that it does look better in the skin than in pictures, me buying one is a few years off, so i'm with-holding my test drive untill I'm in the market for one.

They've got 5 on the lot here in Greenville, SC - your dealer can get them if he wants. It's only the STI which is not yet available.

I'll have to drive by again. I probably just talked to the "lot idiot"

ya, we have about 7 or 8 here both the 5 door and sedan along with one sedan WRX

i have the 08 wrx.. vedy vedy nice.. but i want to get rid of the intake silencer.. so.. instead of starting a new thread.. i figured id ask in here.. ive been searching the old posts and it doesnt sound like the same set up as previous year intakes.. but i could easily be wrong.

can anyone help me out?

as in.. how do i do it..

do you have a pic of the engine bay? Have you located the silencer?

now im lookin for tactrix? i think thast it.. the cord or what not.. and maybe lowering the car two inchs.. any ideas anyone?

That's exactly what I was thinking after trying to understand your post.

o well if u read earlier in the post.. i was looking to remove my silencer.. well i posted to let anyone who tried helping me that i had figured it out. i also posted some ideas i was thinking of with my car. sorry for the confusion...:shakehead

as for the tactrix... i thought that might have been an item for a car.. if you have never heard of it.. i guess not then..

and i was looking for ideas for my car, and i mentioned possibly lowering it a little bit.. but im not sure.. i was asking opinions..

I expect to get mine in about 4 weeks. Will post my impressions here.

I've gone from an 04 WRX to an 06 STi then an 07 STi. I'm planning to keep the 07 since I consider it the last of the good-looking ones. But I use these almost exclusively as track toys, and do expect the 08 to be substantially faster, so I suspect I'll be able to control my gag reflex at its looks (though it's growing on me) if it performs as expected on the track.

Sucks that it's on 18" tires, though. At last count I had 6 total sets of 17" wheels for these things and 25-30 tires.
