First time

Hey guys, my new motor lost its race virginity tonight. Well, pretty much anyway, I wouldnt call it much of a race. Heres how it happened.

So my cousin came up, we had dinner, and were out cruising/eating Dairy Queen afterward. Well, this black stickered up Cavalier goes ricing by with its fart cannon ah-blarin. They get to a light and have to stop, but I was able to roll through as I was back a ways. So when it turned the black Cavy got on it and when whizzin by again.

Sure enough, same shit happened at the next light. I was in the right lane which is also the turn lane and they were in the left lane. I knew they wanted to be in my lane as there was road construction in their lane after the next intersection, plus thats not a very cruised street. As I approach the intersection they were waiting at I slowed her down to about 4 mph and creeped through the intersection as it was turning green. Sure enough they we on it once it turned and as soon as they were even with me I just fuckin wanked on it. Pedal to the metal, just vvrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMMMM PSHHHHH vvrrrRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMM PSHHHHH. I looked in the rear view just then to see where they were, three car lengths back after two gears from a creep! I was giggling like a little bitch I was so giddy.

Sure enough, they followed me around the corner and flew up next to me and just speed matched and waited. I looked over at them to sorta laugh at them a bit and it was two chicks! Oh man was I rolling after that. Sure enough, when I didnt honk the imminent rice by occured and I didnt see them the rest of the night. But my DAMN did it feel good to unleash it on some punk ass teenagers. I mean three cars after TWO GEARS. Anyway, sort of a pathetic first race but oh well, it was fun!

Nice kill.. I still race people like that when they come up to me revin the motor and shit. They think their car is fast, I just have to show them otherwise.

Haha good shit. For some reason i have never had anybody fuck with me in the eclipse, and i don't call anybody out so i've never raced anybody. I guess the intercooler and the gsx sticker gives it away. The talon on the other hand is a rice magnet. Everybody and their mother wants a piece of me when i cruise in that thing. Of course i gotta back down since it probably couldn't beat a geo metro if it had nitrous.

Well, I can officially say I have lost my race virginity now. I was out cruising tonight and I saw my friend Sarah at a gas station. Shortly after leaving there, I drove up next to her and let the BOV off right next to her. As I coasted forward, I end up next to the Camaro I didnt see driving right in front of her. I sized it up, 2000ish Z28, silver, and T tops with a growly exhaust. I knew what that meant, that meant there was a LS1 hiding under there.
Sure as shit, next light turns yellow just as we get to it. We both stopped and were sitting there, but I wasnt going to start it. My buddy Mike is trying to get me to rev at him and race but I was a bit too scared. As soon as the light going the other way turned yellow I hear him go VRRRRRRRMMMMMM so I tach 'er up to about 4k and slip 'er out good right after the light turned green. I didnt launch hard, but it was a good "slow" launch nonetheless. I got the hole shot, ahead by like 3 feet. As soon as I shifted to second, he lurched ahead even with me, then as son as I hit third he got two feet or so on me. Part way through 3rd we shut 'er down as we were right fucking down town. I was so shaken I could hardly drive. It was my first real race, all the others have been monkeying around plus I have been a bad boy and not gotten insurance yet. I didnt see the point being that I would get to drive it for 3 weeks then have to park it for the winter and theres no way in hell I am buying a 6 month policy for 3 weeks. So my buddy and I went and had a cigar while I calmed the fuck down and we went for another little rip through town. What do ya know, but there he is getting gas across town. I pulled in and started talking to him, he was actually a really cool guy. I even picked up a new mod... a radar detector :).

All in all though, I was pretty happy with the race even though I lost. I found out my tranny kicks ass as it was shifting no problem at 6k. Also found out that my short throw works good. The bad thing though is that I learned I need a new clutch :(. She was slippin hard in the race, I guess I just gotta get a new one before I planned to. But yeah, so that was my excitement for the night.

Don't be fooled by the LS1..it's what I was going to originally put in my 92' RS but ended up selling for my 1993 MX-3 ( another story ) but stock , they aren't impressive but with just a few hundred dollars , they can eat turbo's up if controlled properly from launch.

Yup, I know. They are my second favorite motor besides the 4g63. What're they rated at stock, 305hp/335tq? Definately a formidable opponent.

So how much hp you think your pushing if you were pretty much neck and neck w/ that LS1?

Something like that. LS1's are definately motors that take to mods well.

Your guess is as good as mine. All things considered, I figured I was between like 195-210 whp, but its hard to say. Granted he has a good probably 60-80 whp on me, but he also has like 450-600 lbs extra to carry around. All I know is that next time we race, there wont be much of one :p. Nah, hopefully by the beginning of next summer I will have my fuel mods done with some better intercooling and a clutch that doesnt completely blow ass, then once I am running 18 low/25 high pounds of boost on E85 next year I can really show him whats up :D.
