Back on 8-3-05 DownloadThis had a post about his Villager having a problem with the brake light and battery light coming on. If he reads this I would like him to contact me at [email protected] and let me know how he solved his problem...
I'm having basically the same problem on a 2000 Villager. The battery (alternater) and parking brake lights come on (idiot lights) and the alternater isn't charging. If I let the van set for awhile and start it up the lights won't be on and the alternater will be charging.
When the lights come on, if I bring the RPM's up to 2000 they will go off.
I've replaced the battery and the alternater and the problem is still there.
Talked to a Ford Tech. and he said it may have something to do with something behind the dash.
Can't understand why it's a on again off again type thing.
When it's charging the alternater puts out approx. 14 volts.
Both lights come on at the same time and stay on together.
