Somebody told me that its possible to do an engine swap with the 2000+ Monte Carlo ss's, by putting a Grand Prix GTP engine into a 2000+ Monte SS, is this true, I doknow they are both 3.8 litre engines, but is this BS????

I am currently looking into the same thing, at a glance it looks like the same motor. I am looking into just bolting on the supercharger.

it's the same engine. just buy the OEM supercharger for the GTP of the same year from gmpartsdirect. no need to be pulling the whole engine now... :shakehead

Errrr.... you need more than that, the L67 has different heads, different lower intake as well, the blower won't even bolt to an L36. Beyond that the L67 has lower compression ration to handle the boost better. Not certain about internals, but i would imagine its built a wee bit better inside as well. Swapping the blower onto an otherwise untouched L36 is impossible.

I'm not sure if anybody would know this but I have a carbuerated 229 3.8L in my 84 Monte Carlo, and i was wondering if you can put a turbocharger or even a supercharger on it (like a Buick 231)? If anybody has any info they'd be willing to share, I'd appreciate it.
