what is a shortblock? longblock? i need specific info. thanks.

people have different meanings for those, some people think one thing while otehr think another.

short block are just the bare block, no pistons, rods, or crank. may or may not have a oil pump. but ive also seen people describe short blocks and everything but the head, it has the whole bottom end complete

long block they are complete blocks, block head everything. but usually no intake mani but it all depends on where your buying it

Shortblock= Everything below the head gasket. Block, crank, oil pan, pistons, rods, etc.

Longblock= Complete motor minus trans (block, head, intake manifold, exhaust manifold) I purchased my B16A longblock from hondamotorsonline (now hmotorsonline), and it came w/ the intake manifold. But, it was missing the distributor and the lower half of the exhaust manifold.
