http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l284/mmmdrc/my%20models/DSC00927-1.jpg Smoked the windows with Tamiya Smoke from their line of paints. Just a reminder, you have to be careful at the conclusion of the build to make sure you correct the front wheels, they protude a lot, other than that it was a fun kit to build.........:sunglasse :sunglasse

that looks great! did you use a primer under your base coat? I cannot believe you achieved such a great finish with that paint. I am guessing it was done with spray cans? How'd you like that EVERYTHING in your painting area is now metallic flaked after spraying that silver base!?! haha
seriously though, I love the build.

I like it, love the color, it is similar to copper orange, but for me, it just don't suit the tan interior (or at least the dashboard)...
Very nice painting job!:grinyes:

seriously though, I love the build.Yes, it has a primer basecoat of course, I like to use Odds and Ends Clear but it is getting hard to get them.....And yes, lots of flakes everywhere even using my spraybooth:rolleyes:

I was just wondering, because I'm in the midst of dealing with valspar, and what not, just trying NOT to flub up another good kit. I tried a couple different primers, but they just don't seem to be able to be compatible with the Kustom Kolor base coats. I don't know why, the stuff I'm using is what was suggested. maybe I'm just stupid, and need to give up the idea of using valspar paints.

Well my friend, I like using Floquil primers as my base and never had any issues with it, I hear that some of the new plastics they are using for these kits nowadays is sometimes weak when using certain paints but I have not had any issues with my primers. Just try misting your primers very lightly between coats and sanding between them also, you have to give them a pretty good time to dry before shooting your color coats. I sprayed mine right out of the can and didn't have any issues at all and this is the second car I have used those paints on with the last one used in the Tangelo colored Anglia that I posted here.:sunglasse

fantastic work, on the camaro, and the anglia. I'll have to try out the floquil paints, we have an art supply shop here locally that sells the stuff. I just picked up some real automotive primer at a auto paint shop. the guy at the counter was sitting there building a new mustang kit (go figure) and he said the stuff he suggested has worked flawlessly for about 20 years for him. I guess I can't argue with that. and at $15/can (48oz) I figured it's good enough a deal, and if it doesn't work out, I can use it on my real car.
