Strange '02 Crown Vic Problems - Temperature Light on dash / Security Light issues.

I recently purchased a '02 Crown Vic with 280k miles (retired yellow cab). Surprisingly well maintained with just a slight occasional lifter ticking. But that's another issue.

There are two things that I am hoping someone might have some insight to.

#1 - When I go over large bumps in the road, occasionally the high temperature light comes on for a couple seconds. During this time there may be a slight hesitation or slight surge of then engine. Also during this time, the temperature gauge is in normal range. Fluid levels ok. Assuming it could be electrical connection or a faulty sensor, but I thought maybe someone would have some insight before I start troubleshooting something I've never dealt with before. Any ideas?

#2 - 95% of the time I am driving my vehicle, the security light on the dash continually flashes. It's always the same pattern. 1 flash, pause, 6 flashes, longer pause, repeat. Anyone know what this flash pattern code means?

Auto Zone or Advanced will check computer codes for free. I would start with a free test then replay what they told you.
