After searching through 20+ pages I fount no help, plus with the weak searching system on here.:banghead:
Heading off to the yard today and had some questions.
If I get lucky, I'm looking to get some power seats out of another chevy caprice(box) whats everything I would need out of it?
And what I was searhing for was how do you take out the back seat? I has having trouble with that yesterday lol so another :banghead: for me.
Also before I go and have it sent off for interior, I tried to get the dash board off so I could sand it down bondo it and get rid of the cracks in it. I undid all the screws in the front but when I went to lift it up out of there it was still held in there by something. Does that just snap in on the back there by the windshield? I didnt want to snatch it out of there and brake anything.
Aslo is there anyway to stiffin up the steering, I'm sure you guys know what I mean compared to the steering of a box to another newer car. It feels like loose I dont know its hard to explain really. I feel like I have to turn the whell ALL the way around to just get over to the other lane.

If your car does not have power seats now, you will need to run a 10-gauge, fused wire to the area underneath the seat (to supply the power for the electric seat). That's pretty much it.

The bottom seat cushion - push in at the front of it while lifting - do this on each side - it should lift out. For the back cushion, you will need - I believe - a T40 Torx bit for your 3/8 drive ratchet, to remove the bolts that hold the side seatbelt winders on. Once you remove the side seatbelt winders, push upward on the seat back and it will come off.

#1, don't use Bondo as it is incompatible with the material on the dash. If the dash is really that cracket up, consider covering it with 'carpet' - the kind they sell in rolls at Autozone for $10 or so. I did this on mine, you can see the result by clicking on the website in my sig. As for removing the cover, there are also two screws on the side - one on each side (you will see them once the doors are open), and there are 4 at the front of the dash (front as in closer to the front bumper) in the heater/AC/defrost vents; two on each side.

Sounds like your car is a good candidate for a front-end rebuild. I'd look at all of it - ball joints, tie rod ends, control arm bushings - both upper and lower, idler arm, center link - ALL of it. Good luck!

wow, thanks appreciate it. lol I was getting ready to go hulk on those back seats yesterday. Maybe I was just a lil tired from just the head liner alone plus it was getting dark out, i was looking for some bolts.
For the dash I undid every screw even on the sides. I can lift it up like up towards the wiendshiled but wont come out
The steering isn't THAT bad really, but I'd like it to feel more like my newer car, my daily.
I need to order in a grant steering wheel security kit. And they have nice wood grain grant steering wheels for cheap at autozone for like $100.00 which are usually $200++

You gotta take out those bolts in the defrost vents.
