Hey guys I'm totally new to this whole area, so please be nice. :)
Are cold air intakes worth ANYTHING for more HP or anything? Such as this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-96-97-Pontiac-Sunfire-Grand-Am-2-2L-Air-Intake-Kit_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38634QQihZ014QQitem Z330154588361QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

most people will tell you that you will notice a BIT of a difference with a cold air intake installed. minor horsepower gains of 2-3 are all you should expect with SOME better throttle response. basically if you get one, you will notice it when you drive, but not to the extent that many think.
hope that helped.

just to let you know that is not a cold air intake, thats a short ram/warm air intake, a cold air intake gets air from outside the engine bay (where its colder) as opposed to the short ram/warm air intake that sucks in the hot as hell air in your engine bay,

short ram intake will get u a better throttle response because of the shoter piping(oviosly why its called short ram) but id rather have a cold air intake because like Jakegday said it usually sits in the fender well were ther is colder more dense air. For every 10 degrees u drop when it hits the intake manifold u gain 1% hp, that doesnt sound like much but when u keep adding on it builds up fast. Another cheap mod i suggest is the B&M shift plus kit. I just got 1 the other day. It take literally 5 minutes toput on and only costs $45. What it does is shorten the time it takes the tranny to shift between gears giving u a harder shift.I love it!
