Hello . I just bought a 1003 del sol and the trunk closes only to the first latch . you can't open it with out key , but it doesn't close all the way . it has a 1/2 inch gap between lid and body . Can anyone tell me how to get it to close all the way . Thanks in advance . cmyers2002@bellsouth.net

I didnt know they even had cars in 1003... lol.. sory i had to...
there should only be one "latch" for the trunk, it sounds like its WAY out of adjustment. try adjusting it to bring it down more.

My 1995 del sol has a trunk problem too. When you pull the lever in the car, it will unlatch as you would expect, but it doesn't pop open. Thus when you get out of the car to lift the lid, it has relocked. You can only open it by turning the key to the trunk and lifting the lid. It doesn't pop up when you turn the key. I'm not sure why. Maybe the trunk lid supports? (struts).

I have the same issue with my '96. Does anyone know how to make the trunk jump up?

I have a '93 without the interior trunk latch. I have to open my trunk with the key but unless I pull it up when I turn the key, it won't open. It's a pain in the butt! But my '95 has the interior latch and it opens perfectly. Help us all out!

I'm going to replace my trunk lid supports and see if that fixes the trunk lifting problem. I'll let you know if it is a fix.:banghead:

I just fixed my trunk today. all you have to do is adjust the two rubber knobs at each corner of your trunk lid. each corner has one, and they have threads on them like a screw. just unscrew them til the lid is able to pop up on its own when you use the key or the latch inside the car. good luck.

its all in the tension of those rubber bumpers that where mentioned more tension equals higher bounce when you pull latch release
