chattering brakes

i have a 89 dodge dakota with a 3.9 i just recently replaced the rear shoes but keept the orginal hardware. first time the rear brakes have ever been changed, the seem to be "chattering, or rattiling" i cant figure out why. i dont know if i just need to go and replace all the old hardware or take it to my mech. please help.
