Does anyone know of any hobby shops near the Lake George/Saratoga Springs area. Right now i'm just starting out so what I can get at Wal Mart is good enought to practice technique, but I would like to purchase better materials without having to do it online. If no one knows of any shops what sites do u buy ur materials/kits/etc. at and what things would u recommend me buying???

I know it's a little farther from your location, but there is a hobby shop about a mile from me that carries a huge line of kits and supplies. Maybe they ship online orders? Or if you are passing through Syracuse, NY, it's right off of the Thruway exit 39. here is their website:http://www.walts-hobby.com/ . Hope this helps.

that's a tad bit far for me, something between Albany and Lake George would be closer, still, Albany is 45 min. away
there's Adirondak Train & Hobby near me, 20 min away, but i haven't had a chance to check it out. I was there but it was closed, it looks really small and like it's more for the trains and the pool supplies they sell.

Don't discount a place because it sells train stuff, there's a lot from the other scale modeling groups which can be used in car modeling - all sorts of supplies and even techniques.

Check out Adirondack Train and Hobby! He's a cool guy and can probably help you get anything you need. Even though its small, he's got a lot of stuff in there.
There is a Hobbytown near Albany.
