I have some probs

I bought a 89 4dr and when I go to get gas if I turn the car off it will not start until I pop the hood then start it. what could the problem be?:(

have you changed the air intake? doing modifications can affect the start up

nope. everything is bone stock

could there be an aftermarket alarm that was hooked up to that car previously? Check for sensors around the hood that maybe causing an engine shut off or something...check the engine ground too... And what do you actually mean by pop the hood...just pop it and shut it back down?:flash:

that's what I have to do. I'll go check the ground later. It's too damn cold out side right now:D

That's a pretty good theft device though if you ask me, lol...who would think that you need to pop the hood first before you can start the car?:D
