recently my aunt replaced the serpentine belt on her regal. half a day later the car wouldn't start. We checked it out and the a/c pulley had seized up preventing the belt from rotating. If you remove the belt the car starts fin. Is there an alternative belt routing to bypass the a/c compressor? She doesn't have alot of money, so we're trying not to buy a new compressor. Any sugestions?

Welcome to AF.
There is an aftermarket part that will replace/bypass the A/C compressor and has a dead pulley. Let me know if you need a link to a supplier.
The part that sounds seized up may be the A/C clutch so you may not need the whole compressor replaced. The clutch can be repaired separately.
Does it seize with the A/C turned off? With A/C off the clutch pulley freewheels.
