i am ready to drain and refill the coolant in my 2002 grand am 4-cylinder and have never seen a drain like the one on my radiator. it looks like the drain is a white plastic cylinder that you put an allen wrench in and turn to drain. i am not sure if it need a metric allen wrench and i assume is it right hand threads but it seemed pretty tight and i didn't want to damage it. was wondering if others had experience with this.

Welcome back !

Its actually a 1/4" drive hole in the white plastic valve. righty tighty, lefty loosy :D
You do want to be carefull, they can break off and leak and is not fun replacing.

If you cnat get it loose, just remove/loosen the bottom radiator hose and drain it that way.

Some models also have a wingnut valve, the wing part almost always breaks off for me so I usualy drain it from the bottom hose.
