P0715

98 3.0 vulcan(OHV). had the engine replaced and now the trans shifts very hard, especially in 1st and 2nd. my light finally came on and its giving me a "input /turbine speed sensor circuit malfunction" code. the cruise control works fine and the motor doesnt stall at all, it just shifts really hard! i have an obd2 scanner and can reset the codes. is this code related to my shifting problem? ive read the posts about the VSS and TRS and because the cruise works, i assumed the VSS is ok. the guy who done the engine says he didnt screw with the tranny, but who knows!

update:

A lesson learned and others beware. having the connector unplugged from the turbine speed sensor, WILL cause the P0715(TSS) code to be activated. Who would have "THUNK" it? I feel like an IDIOT!!

At least you know the scanner is working correctly :lol:
