Hey all,
My name is Steve and I'm new to this forum. Been taking a few days reading old posts getting a feel for the community. Anyways, let me tell you what I drive then my quick kill story. I drive a 2006 Trailblazer SS (6.0L LS2). Now I don't street race very often because it seems like anytime someone wants to race I have my 16 month old daughter in the car. So I was driving back home from work, I'm driving in the left lane and come to a stoplight and there are like 5 cars all in my lane and none in the right. So I did what anybody else would do and changed lanes. As I pull up at the front of the left lane is a beat up 240 SX, with a shitty loud exhaust and a bed sheet for a back window. I didn't really think anything of it until the light turns green and I take off in my normal spirited fashion to get back in the left lane. When I hear what sounds like a single prop air plane start up and see the 240 jump a little. So I think long straight road, no one in front, and no baby. Sure I'll go. So I step on the gas and my normally civilized Borla CatBack sings out as I proceed to put at least 3 car lengths from a bout 5 MPH to 80. At which point I change lanes back to the left and slow down as we are coming up on traffic. Of course Mr. Wnnabe ricer starts tailgating me (asshole). Anyway to make a long story short we end up getting on the freeway and he is driving like a dick to get in front of me and as he exits he revs his engine. Dick.
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it. More stories as they come.

Damn, I though the Trailblazer SS were fast... So, you raced a beat up 240 with prolly 200,000 mile on it and only beat it by 3 cars to 80 mph... Damn, I thought the Trailblazer SS were fast... He probably figured you were gonna try and cut him off and tried his damnest to not let you...
Nice race and welcome to the forum...

I was gonna argue with you but it's not even worth it 14.86 :nono: LOL. But no track = no proof to you, and unfortunatly there is no track around here (hawaii).
It doesn't really mean anything but just for your reading enjoyment http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?section_id=3&article_id=4065&page_number=5
And thank you nice to be here

No reason to get your feelings hurt. Yeah, best I could do was 14.8 at the track but I didnt come in here bragging about beating a 16-17 second car by 3 cars, in a Trailblazer SS at that. LOL...
Aloha bra,
CMD
I just read your R&T article or really just skimmed. They get a 14.3@97 mph in the 1/4 mile. Thats a pretty good time for a heavy ass vehical, but c'mon your laughing at my time you beat a ragged out 240 by 3 cars to 80. I would be willing to guess you couldnt get your times down to a 14.3 like old R&T did....Oh, and I'll be posting new times shortly. Hopefully I'm a little bit closer than what you could run but with a whole lot less money...

I wonder if my wife's FX35 would be a match for the Trailblazer SS. Regardless of the outcome, we all lose in the end when we have to fill them up with gas. :(

Well maybe I got a factory retard. But I don't think so. What can I say. Not bragging just telling a story. Thanks for the warm reception. I hope someday you and I can race street, track wherever. Until then talk is cheap. Thanks for the first post put down, next time I'll exaggerate and tell you I beat him by three bus lengths.
I'll make sure my next kill is worthy of bragging about. :smokin:
Three lenght win = more motivation to Mod can you say torque converter? :naughty:

It costs me about $60 to fill up the FX and about the same to fill up my Evo...with 100 octane. Right about now I'm all for that "war for oil" stuff to start kicking in. We need a crude pipeline running straight from Baghdad to DC.
BTW...welcome to the forum!

It's interesting you say that. I'm actually a soldier. I'll be leaving in Sept to fight for the forces of cheaper gas. I wish I could get 100 octane. I have to run a 91 octane tune cause the best they got on the island is 92.

You might want to call in case there's a station somewhere on the island. I'm guessing you're stationed at PH but unfortunately VP's website won't allow a specific search of Oahu so hopefully the person on the other end of that line can steer you in the right direction. On an OEM tuned, naturally aspirated engine I don't know how much high octane fuel will do. Throw a supercharger on that mofo though, put some go-fast juice in the tank and get a professional dyno tune...you're daughter will have more fun in your SS than at Disneyland. :iceslolan

Its not the OEM tune it is a mail order tune (Vectormotorsports) the highest octane they offer is 93. So better gas equals more aggressive tune. When I get back from Iraq and back to the mainland there will be a bad ass h/c/h package put in. But thats a long way from now. Tear. Actually I'm in the Army and am stationed at Schofield Barracks. Thanks for the info on VP.

welcome to the forum. and at first i was going to say wrong section, but you posted a story. good job
if i remember correctly, those trucks die at about 60, since its basically a moving brick, thats raised up. would putting the bed door open help at all with air drag?
get some air suspention on that thang, and ride as low to the ground as you can. then will you break 13s 'stockish'. maybe...
and jeep, in my dd grocery getter sounds meaner and faster than it really is car, im getting about 29 mpg mixed city and highway. highway is more like 95 mph, and city is more like 55. go figure, but im not complaining. ;)

Hey are those TBSS's AWD? Besides the JGC SRT-8 the TBSS is my favorite SUV for looks and power... I wasnt trying to be an asshole I was just jealous that someone else will be taking the seat as the official SUV race poster with actual good kills...
Now go out and find you a a stockish GTP and race him and if you beleive then it will be me your racing...
I have a friend that still might be in Hawaii in the service that actually has a GTP... I will see if I can get up with him and if your around each other, maybe a lil race time...
Have you ever seen "The Dog" around or his big titty wife?

nice kill.
the #1 tip i can give you for this forum is to refrain from posting a kill against a 3kgt, they have a huge following here. that is well. welcome! :)
more proper a term would b 3/s standing for 3000gt and dodge stealth, being that they are the same car, just a different body.
personally owning a stealth r/t tt, i dont mind hearing about deaths of em, tells me wat i can and cannot race, others may have opinions much different than mine(as they usually do).
the trailblazer ss is fast, it just happens to weigh a lot to.
perfet example of power to weight, my car weighs 3600lbs(roughly) the supra, in the same class, weighs 3400lbs. same power and tq, but weighs less and has rwd for less drivetrain loss than my awd. the surpa is quicker(quater mile, i have a higher top speed)

...the supra, in the same class, weighs 3400lbs. same power and tq, but weighs less and has rwd for less drivetrain loss than my awd...Not to split hairs, but the turbocharged Mark IV Supra actually weighs 3500lbs+ and the twin turbocharged 3000GT/GTO was right about 3800lbs, give or take 5-20lbs depending on the model year. Those are some big boys right there! :naughty:

The TBSS comes in AWD but I have RWD.
That lady is fat and ugly. I wouldn't say that to her face though she would probably kick my ass

the dodge stealth r/t tt wieghs in at about 100lbs lighter than the 3000gt, it doesnt have the active aero nor the electric equipment for it, therefore lighter.
the supra we'll call it at 3500(mkIV tt) the stealth 3600 and the 3000gt 3700, the rx7 was like 3000(maybe less) and the 300zx i think was the same as the supra.
neways, they might b big in weight, but the power sure as hell makes up for that, trust me, i can get my friends nautious if i launch with the awd at high enuf rpm
