I have about 15k miles on truck and the computer say 5% left on the fuel filter. So, I bought one from AZ for $45 (ouch) and got to looking at it and decided to ask here first. Are the any suggestions or tricks I should know about? Should I fill the filter up with diesel before installing or just prime it per manual? Any help would be appreciated.

There is a specific procedure for filter replacement. you need to bleed the system. look in the manual.

im a duramax tech and you can prime it with either diesel or trans fluid but u should also prime the rest of the sytem by leaving the system uncracked and pressuring up the system
