2004 Gran Prix blower motor wont stop running

When my wife shuts the car off, the blower motor keeps running. I've read that it's probably the resistor. I just need some advice on how to replace it.
I cannot change the fan speed at all; it's stuck at one speed. I've taken out the #4 battery fuse to keep it off for now until I can get it fixed.

It is mounted in the heater box under the dash on the passenger side, right next to/behind the blower motor.

It is a rectangle shape, black with a plug labeled ABCDE? It's located right in front of the firewall. On this I can only see one silver bolt, looks like an allen bolt on the back side, then on each side it's got like one plastic pin holding it in. I can see what seems to be some sort of a heatsink attached to it from the inside of the blower motor housing when I take the motor out. Is this the resistor?

Thanks for your help.

yes, the heat sink is part of the module/resistor. Technically, it's called a blower module in the 04 models, the 97-03's use a resistor for manual AC controls, and a module for the automatic climate control.
