How hard is it to convert a dx "I think it looks like a throtle body on it no injectors" to si wirring i found a sweet deal today a 88 dx for 200 bucks motor is trash but the body is perfect and best of all it has never had any mods done to it at all fresh for me so i don't have to track what other people have done. so just how hard is it and what will i need i am going to put the motor out of my SI in it for now probly get a zc later or maby build a b18ls v-tec hybrid but for now i just wanna get it mobile. i know that i will need a 5 spd since it has a 4 in it but what eles and does anybody have these parts for sale that i mite need.

Roughly $200 n parts. If you did the swap, you can do the MPFI swap. Thats easy as pie.For $200 I would jump on it.

there is no si's araound here in the junk yards to get the harnes off of, i need to find the harness so that i can get the plugs for the injectors and stuff like that. this thing on the throtle bodys says duel something but it is fadded off what kind of motor is it.

yeah the 88 dx has dual point injection. if you plan on converting your current dx harness to a mpfi then check out www.4thgenerationcivic.com and check out the how tos, i thinks its in there. they have instructions on how to convert your dpfi to mpfi. all you have to do is add 4 wires and move some wires around.
how hard is it to add 4 wires, and move some wires around. also you will need a resistor box if you convert to an mpfi.

A DX hatchback has a 5 speed trans (if it's manual). The STD model is the one that has the 4 speed.

Yea, i was gonna say the same thing, it can't be a DX if it only has a 4 speed! that means its the BASE MODEL, a.k.a. STD Model..........

I started out with a bare 88 DX...Converting from DPFI to MPFI is not too complicated and can feel considerable difference from stock...Only drawback from buying a cheap car, everything else seem expensive, lol...DX to SiR wiring alone if you get it from Hasport cost $150..
:flash: Good luck on your project...Thats a great buy for $200

Well the we was not sure about the DX STD OR HF. So there is still no diff between DX and STD when doing the conversion? I need a trans and the harness to get the injector plugs from.
