a/c problems

my girlfriends sister has a 2000 gt5-speed. the a/c hasn't worked in like two years and they went and got it fixed and now when the motor warms up and the ac is on it starts to miss when u get the revs up to shift, and the a/c starts blowing hot air. they got all new stuff, condenser evap. and all that stuff (someone said the factory forgot to put one of those on the 2000's) someone told them it was the spak plugs & wires so they got new one's and it runs better but still doing the same thing. now they wanna replace the timing belt, which really it is time for replacing, but wouldn't it do it all the time, whether a/c is on or off? I would never recomend this car. it has been nothing but problems and everyone i know that has one has had the same problems like windows not working, rear deck lid shock mounts falling in panel, etc...rice burners suck! my 78 ford has only needed a $20 fuel pump it's entire life! and nothing will touch that 460.

Try checking under the dash where the temp control cord connects to the Airflow contrl. (the thing that changes vents from hot to cold air.)
If thats broken that would explain the hot air thing.

the a/c blows cold until the car warms up and it starts missing. it makes no sense.

It wont blow hot till the car warms up anyhow. The heat comes from your hot coolant.

DUH!!! I know where the hot air comes from but the problem is there's not supposed to be hot air from the new a/c! it blows cold untill the car warms up AND STARTS MISSING. screw the a/c why does it miss when it's warmed up and why would the a/c start blowing hot air. could it just be that the compressor bearing is messed up from sitting and puts too much of a load on the motor? but it doesn't do it cold, just when it's warmed up.:banghead: maybe it's just cause it's a chrysler, THAT would make sense

IDK why its missing, but im saying you might have 2 problems, not just 1.
Go look under the dash on the driver side and see if your thing broke off like mine did. If it did that solves your hot air problem.

there's probably 20 problems, but that ain't one of them. def blows through defrost, floor blows floor and a/c blows a/c which is cold 'till it warms up. if that was broke it would only blow on one setting and u couldn't change it. unless it broke in the off position then nothing would work. have u ever heard of someone else having these problems like the missing. the timing belt may be why it's missing. do these things shut the a/c off when a knock sensor goes off or something? that MAY explain it. on a LS1 the a/c shuts off when u go full throttle or if a sensor goes off. By the way did u read my post about the speedo?

Not the control that changes where air comes out. The knob that controls temp, It changes from cold to hot when you turn it because it blocks off the heater If the wire thats conected to your temp control knob breaks off the lever under the dash it will blow hot air. Allthe knob does is block off the heater.
Try this, Leave the a/c offand go drive around with the knob on cold and tell me if hot air comes out when you turn on the fan.

figured out what was wrong. when they put the new a/c in they didn't install the expansion valve. runs perfect now.

Heres my 2 cents.... YOu say it blows cold until the motor heats up? Well, that would be because there is no hot air for it to blow until the motor gets hot. Your a/c may not even be working, get the compressor checked out, you can replace any part you want, but without a good/working compressor, you wont get any cold air out of that thing when its running hot. I happened to lock my compressor up, ( I happen to have the a/c on full blast while doing 110+, I was on my way back from florida, I live in texas) I had it on for about 3 hours, then it messed up, but the whole ride down there, I didnt have it on high, and it worked just fine.
