HELP!!! 98 740 check engine light

guys I have a 98 740 and the check engine light comes on at 6200rpm while shifting from 2-3. Anyone have any clues or similar issues?

There seems to be a misfire at 5, 6, & 8 cylinders only. Related?

The check engine light comes on for a number of causes. Many are emissions/fuel mixture related. A good place to get a breakdown of these is the Bently Repair manual for 740's.
