heater hose nipple problem

I had an unfortunate thing happen today. The nipple that goes in the intake manifold at the rear to feed the heater blew out.
Has anyone experienced this? If so, what is the best way to fix it?
The brass nipple appears to have very fine threads, an "O" ring (rubber), and has 4 indentations for a wrench to tighten it. I hope this is an easy fix!
I was told that any gasket sealer would not hold, and the "O" ring is a Ford only item (it's not too good)

fleettech is correct. Aftermarket intake kits are now available. We use them almost daily.

Thanks Guys! you were correct, I replaced the manifold and the car is running better than ever! Could it be that it was also leaking air (Vacuum)?
Hint to those who read this thread: Be sure you buy the right manifold! all 4.6's are not created equal!
