cooling problems

2001 Ram1500 - i have two problems with a/c which could be related.....first: early in am (when the outside air temperature is cooler) the a/c is very cold. in fact, i usually have to turn the temp knob to a warmer setting. in the afternoon, however, (when the outside air temperature is hot) the a/c is only cool, not cold. second: as i'm going down the road and accelerate the air stops blowing through the vents and seems to start blowing inside the dash or maybe the defrost vents. this also happens when i climb hills. in observing other posts, i'm assuming the second problem is vacuum related. any suggestions where to look for vacuum leak? any suggestions on why the air won't get cold when it is hot outside?

Have you had the system recharged lately? you could have a small leak in the system.

it wouldn't be real cold air in the morning if it were low on freon, would it? just asking, I don't know. why is there such a difference in the coldness of the air from morning to afternoon?

It just making the already cool air colder in the morning.. when the air warms up then it is cooling the wam air therefore not being as cold.
