2000 Ranger A/C vacuum problem

When I accelerate the vent position changes to defrost....all other time it works in all modes with no problem....only under full throttle it changes...please HELP!!!!!

The various louvres which direct airflow in your vent system is vacuum operated. When you accelerate the vacuum pressure decreases. Sounds like you have either an actuator problem on the distribution end.

There is a vacuum reservoir and check valve array which is intended to prevent just that sort of thing. Any leaks in the reservoir, vacuum lines, or failure of the check valve can cause your symptoms.
The reservoir should be either on or under the RF fender splash shield.
