ac/belt help please

whenever i drive my 99 neon with the ac on the belts squeak to hell, so i just never drive with it on. is this a sign that the belts need to be replaced, if so how hard is it for sombody that has moderate experience with neons. if that not it than what is it.

I would guess it's your power steering belt that is slipping when you turn the A/C on. Try tightening it first and see what happens.
