ambient air temp sensor 87 325i

MyOBC display was reading -23F and upon investagation I found that the sensor was gone.... Is it ok to tie the leads together (changed the display to 168F) but it allows other sensors to be viewed. Can I find a used one?:rolleyes:

Did you find an answer to this yet? My wife's does the same thing (except reads -22F). Where is the sensor located anyway? You may be able to find one in a local junkyard. One close to me has several late 80s BMWs.
