Today I jumped a friends car w/ my 93 thunderbird sc. afterwards I tried to leave but MY car was dead, no lights, sounds, or seat movement. someone else came by to give me a jump, and I got lights, sounds, and seat movement; but NO start. Someone told me a little later that you can't jump other cars w/ the thunderbird, it takes some "special" thing. Does anyone know what could be wrong, and CAN YOU JUMP ANOTHER CAR W/ A THUNDERBIRD?

Welcome to the forum, Dastal. It sounds like your car wasn't running when you jump started the other car. If this is the case then you may have just drained the battery jump starting the other car. Have your battery load tested after fully charging it. You may find it's time to replace it. With the jumper cables properly connected between the two cars (connect the two Positive battery terminals to one jumper cable, one Neg teminal to other cable and the last connection to a good ground point on the engine block of the other car). You should never make the last connection directly to the battery due to the chance of sparks which can cause the battery to explode and severely injurying anyone nearby!!!! Your car should be running at a fast idle before attempting to start the other car. It's a good idea to run your car at a fast idle for a minute or two (the longer the better) to give the dead battery a chance to charge up some before trying to start the car.
