Missing sensor connector harness

Hello all,
I see a what looks like a sensor clipped to the engine side of the radiator on the passenger side of a 1996 Buick Park Avenue; without a wire harness.What is this? Is there suppose to be a wire connected on this?It looks as if there are wire pins sticking out from inside of a sensor with a place for a connector to connect to.

No it is black. Why, what does green have to do with it?

Green used to be the fuel pump diagnositc check in that location. That connector may be for a option not used on the car then. :dunno:

It may be a temp sensor of some sort-It just clips on the radiator.It does not appear to protrude into the radiator but I have not removed it yet to know for sure.

May be the outside temp sensor for the auto climate control, but the sensor should be down in the grille area.

the outside temp in the car works so I presume that is not it. I will look for the sensor in the grille area as you described

If that sensor is installed in the radiator, it is a low-level coolant sensor and yes, it should have a wiring connector going to it. Someone must have disconnected it to keep the "low coolant level" light from displaying on the dash. You need to find the connector and reconnect it. If the light appears on the dash, you may need a new sensor.

Do you have a wiring diagram to post?
I agree with you-I will do a better look see today for the harness-I did not see it yesterday on a first look-wondering if it comes out of an engine harness or body harness?

I found the wire hiding tucked behind the headlight assy. I reconnected to the sensor and low coolant level lights up at ignition on and then goes out as it should at start up.The connector has some green corrosion on the center connector pin-What is the best thing to clean these with or should I replace the pin or harness?

Thanks all-I found a new harness at advanced auto parts if I need one later-I used terminal cleaner for now and added terminal grease to keep out any further green corrosion.
