The reversing lamp is mounted on the non-driver's side (in Australia), and is extremely weak. Does anyone have a good solution to this?

To be honest whichever side your reversing lamps are fitted they will make barley any difference as they really are poor. What i have done for a small fleet of taxi's that i am lucky enough to look after is fit an additional reversing light (one guy asked for 2). The ones i used were nothing special and cost only £10 GBP from a local supplier. I have just spliced the supply wire and run the cable across the rear of the car to the other side and taken the earth lead from the additional lamp and earthed it direct to the chassis. For just one extra lamp i wouldnt worry about any relay kits etc and if you did decide you wanted 2 extra lights just remove the bulb from the light cluster. Hope this helps it certainly did for us.
