help with check engine light fault code tcc

Hi,
I used an obd 2 scanner which pulled up a p0740 engine code. autozone told me it can be the tcc(traction control) or most likely the torque converter clutch. My car is a 98 318i auto, I know it has a torque conv but is there is torque conv clutch or solenoid that might be damaged and would it be located in the tranny or outside the tranny. Let me know if any of you had this code come up or what it would mean for sure.
