Okay the other day I turned right onto a road kinda fast and as I kept driving down the road I thought I was seeing dust but was actually smoke. So I pulled into a parking lot and when I turned the wheel the pump moaned loud. So I parked and shut off the car and looked underneath and there was steerign fluid everywhere. I checked around and my return hose had a hole in it from laying on the engine. Some idiot that fixed my intake gasket left it resting on the engine. So I drove home 15 miles without power steering, the same way my grandparents old cars were haha. I replaced the hose and now the pump makes noise. I bled all the air out and the fluid isnt foamy. Also when I listen close to the pump, I can hear a slight grinding noise. So I think I am going to get another pump. My question is how do I get the pulley off?

You'll need to rent or buy a pulley puller.
It also has to be pressed back on.

If you didnt know...
the mounting bolts are accessed through the holes in the pulley.
just line them up with each of the bolts.

it does sound like the pump is goin south.

Yea You have to watch those guys at the Zone. :disappoin
If I remember right they sell one PS pump without the resivoir and you have to swap the old to new.
And neither pump they sell comes with the VAS sensor on the side. :shakehead:

well i got the new pump and switched the pulley and it took almost half an hour to bleed the air out. it still kinda whines so i may bleed it again tomorrow. but it works like a charm now and no stupid noises anymore. now all i have to do is get the lifters replaced to get rid of that stupid ticking/clicking noise in my engine. thanks for your help.

On the lifters I wouldnt change them just yet.....

Buy some SeaFoam Injector (http://www.seafoamsales.com/motorTuneUpTech.htm)cleaner.

Pour half the can(8 oz.) in your tank of gas then pour about 2 OZ into your oil.
At your next oil change add 2 more oz.
It should quiet them down and clean them up.

It does thin your oil a little, so I'd be easy and try not to over heat the engine and you'll be fine.

I use it regularly, for my injectors and a few times to quiet down those lifters.
