break drums hard to remove 96 GEO

I dont have the manual: 96 Geo. The mech told my mom he can't get the reear drums off...heluva mechanic, huh?

Any who..I told her that I'd take a whack at them...Does this particular model have the "Star-Release" cams located behind rubber knockouts on the break assembly which hold tension on the lower shoes?
