WRX STI question

Hey guys,

I am planning on perhaps buying a 2005-2007 WRX STI off Ebay sometime soon but I need to have some details ironed out, any responses would be most appreciated.

First off, I live in . Now the Octane levels here are 95,96,98. Now would these high octane levels hurt the car?

Second thing is how do I change the speedometer from MPH to KMPH (kilometers from miles).
Third thing, is there anything I need to be aware off when bringing over a USA based WRX STI to (which sides on the European cars, etc)?

One more question.

The max speed limit in is 110 Kilometers per hour, which translates into 64MPH. But on certain highways you can go 140-150, which translates into 82MPH/88MPH. And there are a lot of big/steep hills.

Would the WRX STI version be a bit of a overkill and I should go with the WRX?

I strongly recommend getting a car off E-bay, I also strongly recommend against you getting a car from the USA when you can get the similar car from Europe.

US cars have speed on the speedometer in both MPH and KMH.

High octane levels shouldn't hurt anything too badly. I'd definitely stick with the 95, though. As was mentioned, KPH are already listed on the speedometer, but the numbers are smaller and slightly more difficult to read. Once you get used to it, it shouldn't be a problem, though. Yes, an STi will be overkill. The STi is overkill in the USA, but that's why people buy it. It's fun. (In reality, the WRX is overkill also, but that never stopped me).
