On my 94 Altima, I am having a problem with my blower motor or something else. The blower will only work on high, will not work on any other speed. Defrost, A/C, heat, bilevel & all still works, but regardless what setting it is on, it will not work on any speed except high. If I go to turn the speed down, it just shuts off all togather as if I turned the knob to the off selection. What could be wrong? How can I test it myself to see what the problem is?

blower motor resistor went south on you. it's right next to the blower, flat conn. about the size of a credit card. easy repair, and cheap.

Thanks for the info, I do have one more question. Is there anyway to test the resistor to see if its bad before replacing it?

just run a continuity test for each individual resistor. resistance should change for each speed represented. if you run across ol then you have found your break in the resistor.

Thanks alot Toolman. You were absolutely correct, it was the resistor. I didn't even know there was such a part. I was able to find the old in with nothing more than a mirror to see up under the dash, took it down, tested it, threw it out, bought a new one & put it back in. It took care of the problem. You managed to save me the $65 to have the local shop check it out for me & the $100 for the shop to replace it. Instead of costing over $150 if I would have had the shop check it out & replace it, I was able to do everything myself for nothign more than the cost of the resistor at $30.
