1969 Firebird Question

Hello, I am building a model kit of the 1969 Firebird (not Trans Am). The kit is old and of poor quality, and many of the parts are highly inaccurate. I have been working to make a realistic product, and noticed that the rear bumper seemed too wide. However, before I make difficult and irreversible modifications, I would like to know for certain.
Can someone tell me the exact maximum width (in inches or millimeters) of the chrome rear bumper of the 1969 Firebird? I would much appreciate this information.
Thanks,
Alex

I sure don't know the width, but remember those kits had lousy fitting bumpers and they looked too wide. When viewing the car, they don't touch on the inner sides, so it is probably supposed to look that way. Hard to get them to stay glued on when they are right because like the car, not much surface is contacting, it just seems to hang there. You may need to add material to glue it on. Good luck.

Thanks, but this actually isn't the problem. The bumper fits fine, but the actual material on the wrap-arounds seems too bulky. I think the bumper may need to be thinned down.
