I just replaced the timing belt on my sons 95 eclipse 2.0 non-turbo. I got the engine to start but instead of a smooth idle it has a rythmic lope to it. I'm not sure how else to describe it. I am getting a code 11. The book lists about 5 things for it. Throttle body sensor, crank angle sensor, vacuum leak skipped tooth on the timing belt. Anyonr got any ideas?

skipped tooth on the timing belt.

I think you answered your own question.

Lopey idle is after a timing belt change is most likely caused by the timing being off. Did you do it yourself? If so, take off a try to retime it. Hope that nothing got damaged. If a shop did it, take it back.

I did the work myself. With No. 1 at TDC and the timing marks on the cam sprockets aligned in the center I rotated the crank by hand two full turns and the timing marks on the cam sprockets came back to center. The book says to align the cam sprocket timing marks at the top of the head but the springs kick them down just a little below the top of the head. I'll recheck it. I don't hear anything obvious as far as damage to vales or pistons. It turns freely by hand. I should probably check compression on all cyliders also. This car has been sitting for about a year.
