Other than the LS-7, what are the other differences between the z-06 and z-51? I'm a huge fan of the new z-06 but not a big fan of the sticker price so I was curious as to what I'd be paying for other than the upgraded engine.

About as much as night and day performance wise.

I agree, dogg.
Corvette doesn't believe in gimmickry. If you want upgrades, you have to pay for it. Well worth the extra expense (if you can afford it).
To go one step farther, I saw an article on the Ron Fellows signature Z06 in the last Corvette Quarterly. It should be even more of an animal. Haven't read the story yet.

besides the LS7, the z06 has lighter materials like aluminum used for the chassis and magnesium used for the k member and roof, carbon fiber body panels, upgraded brakes (6 piston front calipers and larger rotors front and rear), and bigger wheels/tires. the z06 is also a hardtop (no targa top option) which keeps the car stiff. im sure you could buy a Z51 then buy the z06 CF body panels, throw a bunch of boltons at the engine and have a car equal to the z06 in hp numbers but i do think the z06 is worth the additional price.
