When I was very young and my grandpa was introducing me to the NFL, I did wonder why the team was just a color and not an animal or somethin. Then I saw the Dog Pound and figured it had somethin to do with dogs :dunno:

I thought 'Nati people hated Cleveland people? Just like how Pittsburgh people hate Philly people.
Or is it just that you pity Clevland people for living in such a crap town? I love my grand dad but he sure picked a sad place to settle down :shakehead

We don't hate Philly people. Not like we hate Cleveland people, at least. I've been saying (for about a decade now) that we need an All-Pennsylvania SuperBowl... the state would be burnt to the ground by morning regardless of the outcome.
As for Cincy... they are really living up to their Bungles name this season. Ugh, I'm sure as hell glad I don't live there right now! :p

I have absolutely no idea. Somebody at work offered that as part of a package bet and I told them they were crazy. Little did I know I was better off taking that bet than the Bears to beat a 6 point spread :sadwavey: $20

I'm sure my dad is beaming right now. He was so excited when you guys lost to the Cardinals with the added bonus of Polamalu going down. I'm shocked he didn't call me when they had that crazy field goal situation at the end of regulation.
Am I correct in my math that the Browns are now only 1 game behind you guys in the AFC-N?

If Big Ben threw to Ward or Miller a few more times today, i'd be $20 richer from the fantasy pool, but at least Chester Taylor had a good game so I won my match. I can't believe Big Ben got less fantasy points than Donovan McNabb today, who went out early with a sprain mind you. Jets D must have been on it in the backfield today.

Our pass blocking today totally sucked butt. I missed the first 2 mins of play (stupid holiday shoppers) but I suspect we went out there with a chip on our shoulders.

Half of my fantasy team consists of various Pittsburgh offense weapons, including Big Ben. Hopefully they are all viscious dobermans that eat the Dolphins alive.

I really hope we come into this game with a winning mentality, rather than a cocky mentality.
It's been raining in Pittsburgh ALL DAY, so I hope the field is able to survive. I know they've had a tarp on it, but we'll see how well it works. I heard something just now during the pregame coverage that there is something about new sod being put down. Could be interesting...

I'm just hoping the final score adds to a 1 on the last digit so I can win $50. But if the Steelers lose to the Jets AND the Dolphins, they should be docked 2 weeks pay

I am so glad we won this week! After watching the first quarter, I was starting to question our playing... It was shaky at points, to say the least.
Steel, I was just reading a message board on MSN about the Patriots, and I very much agree that a reason why the Pats are so universally hated is because they are just plain "boring". There is no character. Sure, they may go 16-0, but it doesn't mean that there is any soul to it. It's like a kid with a 2400 on the SATs and straight A's in all AP classes... more than likely no one gives a damn because they have no personality or anything really worth latching on to.
I love my Steelers, and always will. Highs and Lows come and go, but the charisma lasts forever. LONG LIVE STEELER NATION!

Sunday @ 4:15. Will the Stillers end the hopes of an undefeated season in Foxborough? Or will Larry Czonka, Bob Greise, Mercury Morris and crew keep the corks in those bottles forever more? Cause lets face it, the Dolphins aint beating the Pats and they are going to TORCH Mangini and the Jets so bad, they'll wish they never spotted that camera in the stands.

No, the Steelers are not going to beat the Patriots (sorry speediva). If the Pats were going to lose this season, it would have been to Baltimore last week (who really gave the Pats a run for their money if you didn't see it).
Just like all the other teams who came close to beating them, I think the Steelers will:
1. Play as good as the Pats if not better
2. Limit Randy Moss to only 1-2 touchdown passes and 30 or less yards
3. Fuck up a potential upset somehow at the end.

It was a disappointing game to say the least. The first half, the Steelers really played the game. Our numbers (Time of Pos, yards, etc.) looked better than the Pats, but the scoreboard didn't reflect that. We bit it big time with getting all the way inside the 5 and not doing anything with it. If it weren't for Jeff Reed (again), we would have had even fewer points.
The second half was just a disgrace. I don't know who to be more pissed at... Smith or Taylor. Both were sucking HARDCORE on D today, and I can't decide who was more at fault... Perhaps Smith, but Taylor really sucked too.
Oh well, at least we are still over .500 which is all I asked of this season.

I'm so pissed that the one time I respected the point spread, the Pats cover and I didn't bet on it. Good game to watch though. It seems like Tom Brady was more than a lil ticked about Smith's guarantee. Maybe he should just keep his mouth shut next time.

I wanted to watch this game. Could have if Denver wasn't also an afternoon game.............................................. .......
Pittsburgh has clinched a playoff spot at least so that's something to be happy about. Would have gotten their division if Cleveland lost, but they didn't.

Its just been tough seeing Moss go downhill, essentially, ever since his breakout year with the Vikes and their playoff loss to Atlanta so long ago. Few receivers in NFL history have brought the kind of talent to the game he has and I will be happy if he finally gets a championship ring this year.
A big TV is always a pleasure. My roomates TV is a 62 inch, but isn't high def at all. Just your traditional Phillips big screen TV. Still really nice to have though.

I have to giggle because the NHL game scheduled for the same day as the Jags playoff game had to get moved so the city wouldn't be overrun with crazies. :p

There is always next year. And I'm glad I got my hopes of a season over .500. It just was sad to rally back only to lose to a field goal... which would have been preventable (at least a tie) if we had just gotten the extra points instead of botching up not one, but TWO 2-point conversions.
