I'm guessing so, Christopher Columbus was Portugeuse, sent by the Spainish government. So, I think that the Spainish were the first Colonies over.

Well, like mentioned above. Christopher Columbus was the first known explorer to land in the "new world" So it makes sense to say that Spain did bring over christianity.

Time for a little history lesson (and i need it :D )

so his whole "team" on the boat were portugese and spanish?
