Mystery Motor

I have a motor someone built apparently using 327 heads with a 70's 350 truck block The cam is probably too big, because if the push rods get too close to the rocker, the valves are open way too long and I lose all compression. This leaves a very sloppy valve train. Does someone know if this could be corrected without removing the cam??

Nobody wants to discuss this? The engine runs, but there's measurable distance between the pushrods/rockers. The cam is the mystery, the rest is given. Stock 327 heads, the same as the original 302. But a 350 truck block w/ hydraulic cam. I wanted to know about accomodating the cam that's in it. Measure the lift and make the heads correspond? Maybe I'll go ask one of those intelligent Advance Auto guys. (Shrugs)

If there is clearance between the pushrods and rocker arms, the valve train is not adjusted right and I bet it makes all kind of noise when it is running.
Try here on how to properly adjust them http://www.centuryperformance.com/valveadjustment.asp
