I have a 1995 Olds Achieva 2.3L with a 4T60E transmission. The transmission is shot, but i have a transmission from a 1995 Chevy Corsica 3.1L with a 4T60E. will this transmission work with the Quad 4 engine? If not, is it the gear ratio or transmission mount that will not allow this swap? Or possibly, did GM engineers make this impossible to do, which I would think would be unlikely. The trans. cases look identical, but I'm wondering if the PCM would have a problem controlling this swap. Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

I dont think the 2.3 willl attach to the trany that came out of the 3.1 because the bolt pattern is different. You can measure that though and see.
Other then that it would work, they are both 4t60E's, but the plug in might be different from chevy to Pontica, not certain , though.... you can check all that your self.
Good Luck.

Thanks, the bolt pattern is the same,as is the transnission plug and wire colors, am going to change the tranny tomorrow and see what happens, my time is free and so was the tranny. Found out that the only difference would be if the end pan was aluminum and not steel, which it isn't. Although the local salvage yards say it won't work, I'm going to try it as I think that I may get lucky, as when i put the transmission in a 95 Cutlass Supreme, everyone said that it wouldn't work, and the car drove fantastic.Thanks.
