92 Regal Custom 3.8L Engine 113,000 miles
This is my mother in laws car. The car ran fine parked it went to start to move it and would not start. The 20 amp fuel/ECM fuse under the hood on the passenger side relay block was blown. Installed new fuse, switched the relays for the fuel pump and secondary fan relay and car ran fine. Fuel pressure at idle is 48 #'s.
What would be probable cause for blowing the fuse?? Relay, fuel pump or ECM??
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Car was driven again after new fuse installed, she put in more gas and on the way home fuse blew again. I am stumped, with the fuel pump at 48psi it makes me think the fuel pump is OK, if the fuel pump had less psi I would think it was bad. Could a plugged fuel filter cause fuel pump to over heat and blow fuse???
Again thanks in advance

I am going to install a new fuel pump.
I wanted to check the codes but the SEL bulb is burn't out, Can anyone tell which lite the SEL is. I do not have a owners manual.
Much appreciated.

Just wondering if the problem ever came back. I have this very problem on the exact same make and model only a limited instead of custom with 199,000miles

Yes it did, sorry I did not post this earlier. The oil pressure sending unit was replaced and has not been a problem since.
